Rehabilitation after Surgery

Orthopedic Rehabilitation is essential to restore strength and range of movement as soon as possible after surgery.

Orthopedic rehabilitation programs and treatments include but are not limited to:

  • Stretching and strengthening exercise programmes

  • Balance/proprioception

  • Passive stretching and joint mobilisations

  • Modalites to decrease swelling

  • Muscle stimulation

  • Electrotherapy to promote healing

To help increase range of movement we can perform joint mobilisations, soft tissue massage and acupuncture.

The Claydon Clinic stocks and can  fit specialist braces  that your Surgeon may request you use after surgery.

We can also recommend braces to provide stability support for when it is appropriate to return to activity. These braces can be tried here at the Claydon Clinic. We can recreate the environment in which the brace will be used which will give you the confidence that it will perform.
