Prehabilitation

Prehabilitation is the process of developing physical performance before surgery to help maintain a normal level of function during and after surgery.

During the time leading up to your surgery, your original condition may have caused some secondary issues, such as reduced movement and strength.

Prehabilitation training can include:

  • Aerobic exercises

  • Strength training

  • Functional task training

  • Balance/ stability  training

By following a prehabiliation  program your body will be in the best condition possible before surgery therefore allowing a more rapid recovery.

Our Physiotherapists can also answer any questions you may have about after the operation, teach crutch use, supply any equipment or braces you may need to wear and give post operative advice.

We can discuss protocols that may be given by your Surgeon prior to surgery.
